Maximize Your Article Marketing

Writing for and marketing with web 2.0’s New Media for Virtual Real Estate

Naturally internet marketers know that if you want to drive quality traffic to your site what you really need is quality information creating the push. That is the way marketing has been done since the inception of print media. You create quality content and drive traffic /sales by placing that content on quality sources. Right about now your probably wondering, ’so whats new’?

Whats new besides the internet of course, there are several concepts know as Deep Linking, Virtual Real Estate and Revenue Sharing (relatively speaking). Some of my more savvy readers may have heard of a little gem know as topic bridging, in a keyword, what you need is OVERLAP. Topic bridging is typically used for building relevance between an article, the page that it resides on and, the site on which that page resides. This is a great way to develop backlinks.

Now, taking that to the next level, what we have is Article Topic Bridging. Essentially, what we do is plan very well;

register 3 keyword rich relevant domains

use one domain for e-Commerce

use one domain for article publishing

use one domain that does BOTH of the above

Now use new media to create as many differing distribution formats as you can, for example:

1. Convert your articles into podcasts. With conversion services like Feed2Podcast, you can turn your existing RSS feed enries into podcasts, which can then be submitted to podcast directories like iTunes. Other websites that offer this service include Odiogo.com, Talkr.com, and ReadSpeaker.com.

2. Convert your articles into eBooks. By turning your article into a executable file, the article is then considered software, which allows you to submit it to several hundred software directories. You can turn your articles into EXE files using free software creation services like WebSiteZip Packer. This software will allow you to turn an HTML page into an executable file also containing an integrated HTML browser. This alone can bring you hundreds of extra visitors and subscribers. You can also use this technique to build your subscriber list quickly by requiring people to register before they are able to read.

3. Convert your articles into PowerPoint presentations. Slideshare has a Google Page Rank of 7 and an Alexa.com ranking of less than 2,000. This site gets a huge amount of traffic and it packs a lot of ranking power. If you would like to entice people to click through your presentation to your site, be sure to include a link to your site at the beginning and end each one also be sure each link has the normal blue underline to increase it’s click through rate.

4. Create a video from an article. This is a simple strategy can garnish exposure from sites like YouTube, Google Video, and MetaCafe. you can even use the PPT slides from Slideshare, add audio to your presentation, and up load it. Remember to place the actual text of the article in the description of the video. This will help you to rank for your desired keywords an phrases.

5. Distributed RSS. Post your articles to Squidoo, Google Knol, HubPages, Blogger.com, Wordpress.com, Vox.com, Tumblr, Weebly, Terapad, WetPaint, PbWiki, Wikispaces, and WikiDot and more then, grab the RSS feed and submit it to all the different RSS directories. If a site doesn’t automatically create an RSS feed for you, to have one made for you use Dapper.

6. Convert article into a PDF. You can post PDF versions of your articles to iTunes, Scribd, eSnips, DocStoc, Calameo, Issuu, Yudu, FreeIQ, ButterflyReports.com and others to increased exposure.

7. Convert articles into a widget. A widget is a distributed application that can be easily placed into web pages, Facebook profiles, Myspace pages, start pages, and more. Best of all, you don’t to be a coder or even hire one. You can instantly turn your blog into a widget at WidgetBox.com then distribute it via Google Widget Director, Yahoo Widgets, Friendster Widget Directory, WidgetBox, SpringWidgets, Widget Gallery, Snipperoo Widget Directory, RateitAll Widgets, Netvibes Widget Diretory, Widgepedia and, Xanga Widget Directory.

Don’t forget to use WidgetBox to turn your widget into a Facebook application using App Accelerator. Combined with Dapper, you can turn any web page into a Facebook application and then have the potential to send thousands more visitors to your site per daily.

Now you are in position to maximize your article marketing.

When creating pages on revenue sharing sites like hubpages and squidoo. Write good quality content and link to all 3 of your sites as well as your revenue sharing pages as RS site policy allows. Next, write similar quality articles and distribute them in the ‘traditional’ ways such as eZineArticles, press releases, guest blogging and, other forms of content distribution (networks). Each of these articles should;

be written with topic bridging in mind

contain about 5 links per 750 words

have keywords in the anchor text

links in the beginning of the 1st paragraph and the end of the last

written as a series where possible

written with compilation into an e-Book in mind

Be sure to deep link to interior pages whenever possible. Now you’re article writing and marketing Web 2.0 style.

Today marked the launch of YANSE (Yet Another New Search Engine) known as Cuil though, in this case, Google may actually take note. A collaborative development, Cuil, pronounced ‘cool‘, has some impressive brain power behind it’s results. Owned operated and developed by former Google search architect notable Anna Patterson who has previously sold Google a search engine and her husband, Stanford Professor Tom Costello, this search engine launches with an enormous amount of potential as well as more indexed pages than Google though unfortunately, with currently limited results.

When I searched for this site, SEM-Answers.com, Cuil.com found no results. Oh well. I must say that I do like the interface. The home page boasts a ‘green’ background as black is earth friendly from a power use standpoint. I especially liked the way Cuil displayed search results as columns instead of the traditional list layout. This will no doubt go along way to equalizing the efforts old SEO. Ironically, this feature may in fact cause Cuil to lack adoption as it was Googles Page Rank formula that in large part enticed so many SEO’s over to Google in the 1st place.

Cuil claims to be a contextual search engine, not a semantic search engine though one may question the ambiguity of the statement ‘we try to understand the world, not the web’ put forth by Costello. In any event, Ciul is said to have major backing ($33 million) and is expected by all to be a serious player. While not as complete a service as Google, a toolbar and widgets are coming soon. I think it’s debatable what is enough to launch a new search engine other than to ask, can the present offering bring further VC interest and, can it bring an offer from any current players in it’s market, which I think is fair to say that Cuil can.

In my opinion we should make no mistake about it, Cuil is going to knock the search world off balance on a regular basis.

The iPhone OS 2.0 software update and the iPhone 3G are both available at long last. at 225MB this new software package offers an even bigger punch. Also bring into play the wider distribution of the new second generation iPhone 3G and Apple is looking at another home run for shareholders even though rumor has it that Apples download servers are having a meltdown. Couple that with AT&T’s notorious level of service and you can imagine that lots of people have wasted yet another iPhone sick day off.

Unfortunately what most call-offers don’t realize is you can sink iTunes with v7.7 to your iPhone to check and get the download yourself, at home, after not wasting a day off but then, yes you guessed it, you need to download iTunes 7.7 for that. so, as they say here in t he great north east, ‘you can’t there from here’.

On a lighter note, Microsoft, not to be outdone by all the fanfare reported, if you are using iTouch, and you upgrade to OS 2.0 ah, yup, you guessed it, you get to pay again, WooHoo go iPhone.

PS,
if you were reading along out loud and not saying WooHoo like you were blowing a gasket and having a meltdown all your own then you weren’t saying it correctly, Please Try Again.

Today after automatically downloading and installing a Windows networking update, KB951748, thousands of XP users found they no longer had access to the internet. Zone Alarm, a popular 3rd party firewall, interpreting the update as an attack declared internet access denied.

So what lesson have we learned? While IT consulting and, even now, I never allowed Windows to automatically update via the normal consumer windows process. Only if pushing out updates via SMS (Systems Management Server) or alike, would I allow any type of automation.

This exact situation has burned me so many times. You arrive at the office or get the 6AM call from your site admin who is screaming ‘the internet is down no one has access, I checked 5 different computers’. So now you can’t even access the systems remotely to troubleshoot. You call the ISP and they say ‘we can ping the router’ and now before you have even had your coffee, your incompetent.

Now, several hours later, you arrive at the office, sleep deprived and incompetent, surrounded by dirty looks. They have all missed a deadline, lost their bonus and, it’s now your fault because you are the one who is there to fix it.

100 FREE A-list drop ship suppliers

If you know e-commerce then you know that if an eBiz owner doesn’t have an A-list of genuine wholesale suppliers then they don’t have a profitable business. You probably also know that there are other well-known ‘directory’ sites out there that CLAIM to provide real wholesalers though the fact is, they are full of middlemen, product sourcing scams and ridiculous up-sells to other expensive and ineffective ‘products’. My source for dropship suppliers is actually giving away ONE HUNDRED absolutely genuine, guaranteed Wholesale Suppliers for FREE.

Thats right. To demonstrate that Worldwide Brands is the ONLY real provider of this information online, they are giving away a $97 for FREE. This gift demonstrates that one hundred genuine suppliers is simply a tiny drop in the bucket compared to the thousands upon thousands of real wholesalers listed in their full product directory and, it doesn’t end there, though. This stand-alone tool also comes with 5 critical ecommerce education videos, and 23 eBiz expert interviews. It is the perfect way to get an eBiz up and running successfully with REAL wholesale suppliers– and it is absolutely FREE!

So why do I think you need this?

It’s simple - whether you’re just looking to add new products to your mix, or even if you’re just starting out with e-commerce, drop-shipping is one of the fastest ways to get up and running. Drop-shippers will work directly with you to stock the products YOU want to sell and will ship them directly to YOUR customers when you make sales. No warehousing, no stock, AND you get paid by the customer BEFORE you have to pay for the merchandise to fill their orders. When things get lean, there’s nothing better than not having any of your own money tied up in inventory. Even if you are already set up with warehousing and stock, drop-shipping is a great way to test different products and markets with little to no risk. You can easily identify hot-selling products without having to invest any of your own cash in advance.

So what are you waiting for, head over to Worldwide Brands now for the FREE offer and get started dropshipping now!

TLD

Domain names are references to addresses on the Internet. Much like a postal address or phone number, a Domain Name is divided into parts Each part of that address is separated by a dot ( . ). The letters to the right of the rightmost dot and the left of any single forward slash ( / ) are referencing the Top Level Domain (TLD). There can be additional slashes followed by any number of other characters after the TLD which will direct any web browser (such as Microsoft’s Internet Explorer or Mozilla’s FireFox) to sections or “pages” within the web site. Example:

DomainName.TLD/pages

SLD

A Second Level Domain Extension (SLD) can be placed to the left of the TLD separated by a dot ( . ). Additionally, a dot can be used webmasters to create and attach secondary web sites to their original web site. These are referred to as Sub-Domains. “SLD” is a second level extension, and “TLD” is a top level extension a Domain Name with only a top level extension would be a second level name, not a second level extension. Example:

DomainName.SLD.TLD/pages

There are three basic types of TLD’s Generic Top Level Domains (gTLD’s) are world-wide. Un-sponsored TLDs (uTLDs) are gTLDs such as .COM that are not restricted as anyone around the world may buy and use a .COM domain name.

Sponsored Top Level Domain Names (sTLD’s) are a sub-grouping of Generic TLD’s and are also worldwide but are restricted to use only within a particular industry or other group by its governing body. .TRAVEL for example is a sponsored TLD.

Country Code Top Level Domains (ccTLD’s) are country specific and have only 2 letters. The United States has .US domain names available and Canada has .CA . Country codes have very little in the way of governance as some countries are promoting their CC domains as though they were generic or sponsored domains, while many other countries are very restrictive regarding who they allow to buy their country code domain names. View a complete list of Country Code Extensions and *LD’s here.

“How Do I Create an E Book?”

There are many different software tittles you can use to create an E-Book. Generally speaking your creation should be unalterable so, that really only leaves you with two format types. The biggest issue with E books is consumption, how to allow the document to be read by everyone. This also leaves mainly two different file types;

PDF

EXE

PDF

The simplest method would probably be to format your creation as a ‘.pdf’. PDF stands for Portable Document Format. The most popular PDF creation software tool would be Adobe Acrobat. If Adobe Acrobat is out of your price range you can always get a lesser priced software such as CutePDF.

The way they work essentially is, you create a document in word and then convert it to the PDF format with in the PDF software or, in the case of Acrobat, also with the additional menu it adds to Microsoft Word. You can then add many different security setting to your document including passwords to open and or print the document. The key to the whole process is the freely available PDF readers available on the marketplace, without them, the PDF format simply would not be a practical solution. All in all using a PDF creation software tool to encode your E-Book is a very easy, fast and, cost effective solution.

EXE

A slightly more complex and typically less understood solution is to create an ‘.exe’. EXE stands for Executable. The executable file type in essence is small program that must be installed on your computer. This program controls everything from the way way the E book is presented to linking and printing. The main drawbacks for this type of E book creation software is screen size. Most EXE software program will not allow the user to display a ‘full screen’ representation of you creation. Additionally, the learning curve, while not steep, is greater than that of PDF software. Also, you can do nothing more with the application. The greatest advantage to this type of encoding is many of these types of E book creation tools allow you to ‘turn off’ any single distributed copy.
