SEM by the numbers
So now, at long last, Google had fulfilled one of it’s greatest promises. Actual, real search volume numbers. No more will we be forced to guess if a green bar 3 is good or, if a green bar 4 is almost 5 or almost 3. Thats right folks real live actual number for search volume. Rumor has it though, that the numbers, much like what Yahoo displays, are inflated.

Today marked the launch of YANSE (Yet Another New Search Engine) known as Cuil though, in this case, Google may actually take note. A collaborative development, Cuil, pronounced ‘cool‘, has some impressive brain power behind it’s results. Owned operated and developed by former Google search architect notable Anna Patterson who has previously sold Google a search engine and her husband, Stanford Professor Tom Costello, this search engine launches with an enormous amount of potential as well as more indexed pages than Google though unfortunately, with currently limited results. Recently many have been referring to twitter as a search engine. While twitter can indeed be searched, I’m really not so sure that it’s a search engine. In any case, it certainly is not a search engine of the traditional sort ;o). Today’s subject is twitter search engines, yes, engines that search twitter, of which, twitter is one, ever since it acquired Summize (Anyone else feel that thump in your head? With talk like that it’s no wonder old folks can get so cranky and wave us off when we whippersnappers start talking about computers). Well it seems as though that was a perfect fit. The fact of the matter is, not too far from the dubbed founding premise of twitter as a micro blogging platform, if you are looking for micro rants or reviews about absolutely anything and everything, yes even in real time, twitter is the place to search. After a long nearly fruitless search, I’ve uncovered a really great widget that you can put on your Blogger Typepad or WordPress blog. I’ve also found a neat little Java based Star Rating Script that can be placed on any web site.
No doubt many of you are familiar with Feedburners RSS service and, no doubt many of you are also familiar with Facebook. Now, if you have a membership with both, you are in luck.
