Yes, free hosting is definitely worth it for the newbie. You can learn a lot and then apply it to your paid hosting sites down the track.

I have found 3 excellent free hosts. They are all reliable, have great templates and you can buy domains through them. They also have blogging tools attached.

The sites are Weebly, Webnode and Yola. Definitely worth checking out.

Getting your first web host is no easy task. There are hundreds of hosts to choose from, and it's really difficult to determine which host is the best. This problem is compounded by hundreds of web hosting review sites, which may all be completely fake.

Shared web hosting is the kind most people start off with. These review websites would often like to have you believe that there is actually a "top 10" list of web hosts. The truth is there are probably only around five quality shared hosting companies around!

In fact when reviewing some of the more popular review websites, it is shocking to see that some of the recommended have terrible records with the BBB, and are still being recommended.

This is often because the sites are not honest review sites. They may be setup by web hosting companies themselves to slam their competitors, or they may have a back door, where web hosting companies can bid on the position they would like to appear on the review website's rankings! Often the review sites are being paid.
