Electronic data has allowed for many advancements in the way we do business. One of which is the ability to send large files, up to 5GB, nearly instantly for FREE. Why burn a disk, label it, place it in a CD holder, drop that into a bubble mailer and then wait three to five days for your recipient to get it, only to receive a phone call or an email from that person telling you the data is corrupt or you sent the wrong stuff over. No More! With services like filedropper or sendspace you can send your files fast and easy or free. Each service has it’s own advantages and disadvantages. For example,

filedropper will allow you send a file up to 5 GB in size but, if the transfer is interrupted you may need to start all over again and, you can only upload one file at a time. The advantage of a service like sendspace is having the option to send only one file or, you can download software that will manage the uploading of multiple files at once and, resume interrupted uploads. When the upload process is compete, sendspace sends an email to your recipient for you. The recipient then simply follows the link and downloads the file. The sendspace wizard really is a set it and forget it solution. The only drawback is that there is a maximum file size of 300MB. The drawback of a service like filedropper is that it forces you to wait around until the file upload is complete, which can be quite a long time if you are uploading a 5GB file. You then have to supply your email recipient with the download link. Overall I really do prefer the sendspace wizard but when you have a 4.8GB 2 hour 720p presentation, what else can you do…:)
