Google’s Supplemental Index
ByThe Index of The Un-Dead!
Like in all those cheesy zombie movies I love so much, where all the extras wander around looking terrible while murmuring ‘brains, brains‘, we now have an invisible virtual waste land of zombied web pages needing ‘links, links‘ and, you guessed it, what’s invisible is Google’s supplemental index.
I for one never believed Google when they claimed to be eliminating their Hell-dex. Much like the ‘Slow Death’ phenomenon that index created, I know many Internet Marketers and SEO’s who claim to believe that Google really did pulverize the index. What Big G actually did was make the Supplemental Index ‘for internal use only’ but, a simple ’site:’ query shows there are still hidden door ways or, back doors if you will, to the vast supplemental underworld.
Now what’s this? You have pages not showing in the main index? Do an ‘info:’ query for any page that did not show up in your ’site:’ command results and follow the Google cache link provided and check the cache date at the top of the page. Hey WOW, it’s a cache date from weeks ago. Remember how supplemental pages do not show unique expression searches unless the expression is of very rare words. Go ahead and try the search, I’ll wait. Now be very quite, what’s that you hear? Must Have liiinks!
