Domaining is the art of buying and selling domain names and or web sites for a profit. Those who go about it are known as Domainers. It’s much like flipping mortgage properties only the buying and selling is of virtual real estate. You can simply register a domain name and resell it at a higher price, should it be worth that price or, you can buy underutilized or under rated web sites outright or at auction, as ‘fixer uppers’. Once you put your flare on them and get a higher rate of traffic, you can then turn a profit reselling that domain as a viable or turnkey business. The selling of domains and domain names can bring a huge price tag. Much like physical real estate sales, virtual real estate domaining can bring millions. Business.com was resold in 1999 for $7.5 million. Sedo and GoDaddy are just afew of many domain auction sites. You may sell you web properties at more traditional auction sites like eBay.
