Selling physical products on the internet is known as eCommerce. Opening a store typically requires a full time commitment and special store/cart software with a payment gateway attached. The software can track ordering and fulfillment as well as receipts and promotions. This software can be very expensive or completely free. You can sell whatever you want so again, the possibilities are endless on what you can sell using the internet. It can be something that you handcrafted or it can be something you stock on site or you can simply be the middle man, making the sale and taking a cut. If you can manage high traffic and customer retention, the sky is the limit as to how much money you can make doing this. Drop shipping describes the process where one or more sources stock and warehouse the product you sell and then ships it to your buyer for you. While the distinction can become blurry, this is not to be confused with a fulfillment service. For the manufacturer or distributor, this allows their products to be promoted by many people, creating a marketing buzz and many points of distribution. When a customer buys your product you will contact the drop ship supplier with all the order information and pay your *wholesale* price for the product. The supplier then ships out the item to the customer with your information, not theirs. Naturally this leaves you with significantly fewer barriers to entry. You have no stock, no warehouse and, very few of the traditional encumbrances of retail. As the business grows, you may want to increase you profit margin by buying in larger quantities then warehouse and ship yourself or with a fulfillment service.

World Wide Brands, Salehoo.  These are two drop ship directories.  These directories have brought many drop shipping companies together.  The companies listed in these directories offer many products and eliminate the need for you to find drop shippers on your own.  Every drop shippers has there own resellers rules and regulations.  For the most part you can find the requirements on the drop shippers site.  Some require membership fees, some do not, but either way it’s well worth the cost.  To have access to drop shippers on one area and organized in categories is so very helpful. The time saving factor of having all the drop shippers in one place is huge.
